we’ve never met her husband canonically in the show but he’s actually 35

okay i am actually in love with this idea of maria having this 35 year old himbo manhunk waiting for her back in mistral.... head empty no clue where his cranky wife has gone.... watering plants and woodcarving or whatever. she’s never mentioned it??? it’s never come up!! these self obsessed kids with their “relics” and “world peril” never even asked if anybody ever put a ring on maria freakin calavera and that’s on them!!

you’re right class/daemons plays a big role in the books, especially in the beginning of the golden compass. also i’m banking on william parry of color so much it’s physically painful to wait another year for the casting announcement

same, after literally two years of nothing but torture and misery having no autonomy whatsoever and being treated like an object by the most important people in her life this was like...the only saving grace and it’s not even in the primary timeline
