„What do you mean I can't go to the party? Dad allowed it two months ago. It's in the goddamn calendar, Danneel! Two days ago you and dad said it's okay and now you're telling me I have to babysit JJ and the twins? Really? I love the kiddo's but that's not fair!  Two months, you know about Claire's birthday party for two months. I even asked you to…forget it! I hate you!"

"You will do as I say when Jensen ain't around!"

"Dad allowed it! You said it's okay and today is the party and suddenly it's not okay? This isn't fair and you know it! I always babysit my half-siblings. I love the little Buttons but this isn't fair. I'm at home for almost the whole time. My grades are always A+. There's no reason I shouldn't go to the party."

"Gen and Shirley invited me!"

"So as your friends invited you and I shall step back again? We can call Sally to watch the kids. It will only be four hours Danneel, four hours. I will be back at 10 pm and check on the Buttons. I can give Sally my number so if anything happens she can call me. I don't drink, you know that. What's your fucking problem?"

"You! You always talk back."

"No. I always swallow what I have to say. I try to like you since dad married you. I love the kids and I love that you make dad happy. I'm not the problem. You are the problem. I really try to do my best to not fight with you but this isn't fair. Only once you could admit that this isn't fair! I wanted to go to that party for over two months and you know it. But you want to have fun with Gen and I have to stay home – again!"

"You're unbearable, Y/N!"

"You know what? You are not my mother! I really tried to see you at least as a friend but you make it impossible for me. Not a single time I hear a ‘thanks' or ‘well done' no matter what I do, it's always wrong. You are not my mother! Dad allowed me to go to the party so I'll go anyways."

"I'm glad I'm not your mother! You are unbearable! I guess you are the reason your mother left Jensen to have a new family with another man!" Danneel spats and you burst out into tears.

Running upstairs you barely see the where you're walking. JJ looks at you with wide and worried eyes.

"What's wrong big sis?" She asks.

"Nothing Button. Just an allergy, honey. Go back to your room, kiddo. Okay."

"Okay," JJ says.

Entering your room you fall down onto your bed. Crying and sobbing you can't believe she said something like that. She knows how much you miss your mom.

"Did you really say what I heard?" Jensen yells standing in the doorframe. He came home earlier to surprise his wife and the kids.

"She started the fight!"

"Really? She wanted to go to the party! She deserves it! Here grades are the best! She never goes to parties or does stupid things. All she wanted was to go to her best friend's birthday party. Hell, she even asked you to help her with a dress!"

"No, she didn't!"

"She did! Watch the video you made of the twins! She asked you to help her as she thinks you have a great taste in fashion. Y/N tried once again to get your attention. You ignored her and she gave up. She ran upstairs and cried till Gen offered her help!"

"I…didn't know."

"But the worst is how can you say it's her fault that Jennifer left me? Do you remember how heartbroken she was seeing her mom with another girl her age? Knowing her mom left her to have a new daughter with another man? How can you be so heartless? She never had a mom, that's the reason she tries so hard to get your attention."

"No. She doesn't like me!"

"Three months ago she asked you to help her with her hair. Y/N wanted a new haircut. Again she asked you and what was your answer?"

"I don't remember…"

"You said you have an appointment. What was the appointment? Oh, yeah. A new haircut! Dammit, Danny she really tries. Begging for attention but you just…forget it! I try to fix what you broke…again. I can't believe you sometimes. One party! That's all she wanted!"

Cursing Jensen runs upstairs only to find JJ sitting next to you on your bed. The little girl tries so hard to soothe you.

"I bet your mom loves you, big sis!" JJ says.

"No, honey. She's got a better daughter. No one wants me."

"What about mommy?" JJ wants to know.

"No, she doesn't like me, Button."

"I like you!"

"I know Button, I like you too and the little mixed pickles."

Giggling your little sister hugs you tight. Watching his little daughter trying to cheer you up breaks his heart. How can Danneel say something like that?

"Hey, Y/N? Can we talk."

"I'll stay…don't worry. I don't have a proper outfit anyways…" you whisper.

"Why? I gave you my credit card to buy a new dress!"

"The credit card was lying on my nightstand and when I came back to my room Danny left it and the card was gone. I wanted to buy one with the money I earned from babysitting but all the dresses were too expensive so I gave up."

"Why didn't you say something?"

"I didn't want to cause another fight. It's your money, not mine so…doesn't matter. I already texted Claire I can't make it."

"But you deserve this party, to have fun, Pumpkin," Jensen says sitting down onto your bed.

"It's okay. She can go and have fun. I'll babysit the Buttons."

Sniffing you hide your face into the pillow. Stroking your back gently Jensen doesn't know what to say.

"I'm sorry for what she said…that she doesn't even try to be a mom for you."

"My ‘real' mom didn't want me. Why should Danneel want me? The first thing I thought when you said you're going to marry her was that she's pretty and knows how to dress…how to do her make-up. I thought she would help me with…ya know…'girls stuff'. I really tried dad. I know sometimes I mess up but I'm trying. I'm not what a mother wants, I guess."

"Pumpkin, that's not true!"

"Dad lets face it mom left me and Danneel obviously hates me. It's okay…one more year and I’ll go to college then she doesn't need to see me anymore."

"What do you mean? I thought you want to choose a college nearby?"

"No, I'll go to a college far away. You're away most of the time so I'll come to visit you and stay away from her."

"This is…when did you decide so?"

"A while ago. I wasn't sure about it. Tried to figure things out. Tried to make her like me but nothing worked. After today I'm sure dad. I'll choose a college far away."

"No, you won't!"

"Dad, it's okay. You've got a new family. You don't need me or the trouble I cause. Danneel and you can have a happy family without me."

"I won't be happy without you!"

"You have three new children."

"What? That's what you think? That JJ and the twins can replace you, Pumpkin? God, you are my Baby! No matter what! Even if you would rob a bank you would be my Baby!"

Sniffing you sit up to hug Jensen tight. You don't see Danneel's shocked face. She heard every single word. She didn't know she hurt you so much. Jensen was right. You really tried to get her attention.

"What about the party?" Jensen asks.

"I'm not in the mood. I texted Claire I'm sick so…I couldn't go anyways."

"What did she say?"

"She asked me if Danneel is behind this."

"What did you answer?"

"I wrote that I'm really sick."

"Why?"

"I don't want people to talk bad about her."

Slinging an arm around your shoulder Jensen starts singing your favorite song. Giggling you lean your head against his shoulder.

"Pizza and Netflix then?" Jensen asks.

"No. Go and spend time with your wife. I'll stay here for a while."

"Come on. Don't hide again."

"I think I don't want to see HER for a while."

"I know. What she said was…this is not what a mother should say. She knows how much you miss your mom."

"I don't need a mom. I've got the best dad in the world…"
