It wasn’t often Zach got to have a sleepover with Uncle Vanni. Usually he was super busy doing big shows or saving the world but Mom and Dad had to go away for a big meeting so he’d been allowed over since his Nanny was visiting her son who wasn’t very well. Honestly, it didn’t matter to him, they’d had the bestest day ever! He’d been shown loads of new tricks, they went to the zoo and had pizza afterwards!
Uncle Vanni had a visitor coming over that night though, so Zach went to sleep in the spare room. He started awake a few hours later though, dreams of an angry monster from the shadows chasing him. Every shadow in the room looked like something scary... had the wardrobe door been open before!? He grabbed his stuffed dove toy and fled the room into the hallway. He could see a light in the living room and poked his head through the gap in the door to see a man he didn’t recognise sitting on the couch.
He licked the gap where one of his front teeth were and quietly spoke, “E-excuse me Mister, is my Uncle still here?” Sometimes Uncle Vanni had to go in the night but he always came back. He stepped into the lit living room, wearing his Superman pyjamas and cuddling his dove toy close, “I think there might be monster in my room...” he explained with a sniff.
