jamie’s two teds
Today's Ted Lasso Filler Episode: Jamie is given a Kindle with a bunch of books, Simon thinks he would like and the open dyslexic font already turned on. Jamie somehow becomes a big reader.
I'm a follower so. Spin the wheel for a Ted Lasso character and tell me whether you'd fuck, marry, or kill them
if you see this post tell me your thoughts and headcanons about Jamie and Simon
So, you know that Toheeb Jimoh's father is called Ola, which is why they gave Sam's beloved dad the same name, right?
Well, Phil Dunster's father is called Simon.
Implications: astonishing.
I’ve been thinking a lot about how chill Jamie is with Stepdad Simon.
You can’t tell me that S1 Jamie, certain everyone was out to get him or playing minds games and who absolutely had been listening a little too much to his dad, would be cool with anyone making a move on his mum. Even then, it’s pretty clear Jamie’s a big ole Mama’s Boy and anyone else would’ve likely been seen as a threat to their dynamic or just a threat to her, as James Senior likely was. Peak Prickness would not have tolerated a friendly and kind Paul Hollywood acolyte getting involved there.
But then having Ted in his life - a secure, encouraging, and empathetic man who is genuinely not playing mind games - and honestly hearing and processing Keeley’s observation that not everyone in his life is out to get him (except Roy) made space for Jamie to accept, appreciate, and trust someone like Stepdad Simon and I love that. That sexy little baby deserves good humans in his life.
Look, I think we can all admit that if Jamie gets a little chubby after retiring, it's not entirely because of Roy.
do you know how long Simon has been waiting to properly feed that boy?
100000000% but I actually don't think Simon would wait at all, I think he's probably constantly trying to get Jamie to eat his sugary pastries and Jamie just has to steel himself and gather the willpower to turn them down like Jesus being tempted by the serpent in the desert
Maybe it's just me, but I feel like Simon probably genuinely loves Jamie like he is his own son, but would never ask Jamie to call him Dad.
I totally agree!
I don't think Jamie would call him Dad either tbh. It would be different if Jamie never knew his father, but his dad was in his life and he terrorized him for years, so "Dad" is not a compliment
