Two moms. One blog. Same state. Finally!
It's been three long and hard years but on Saturday, all of that will be made up.
I know I haven't been on lately and I'm so sorry but we've been busy! Between the holidays and running around like a headless chicken with every day life, you tend to get caught up. In my case, it only made time fly and the clock tick.
Saturday, Brittany and her family will be back in the states and guess who gets to pick her up? ME! :D I get to spend an evening with my (very jet lagged) best friend and her family after picking them up from the airport, then spend another day with them (sans baby and husband) on Monday so I can watch the kids while they sign the lease to their new home during their stay. We're hoping to get some girl time, maybe even catch a movie, but honestly, we could sit at the pool drinking sodas for two hours before I drive 3 hours home and I'd still take it.
This means several things.
1. Updated pictures. Probably often. Hallelujah!
2. Photo shoots! Subjects to capture and my bestie gets free family photos all while spending time with us :)
3. I can take more quality photos of her crochet product and be more 'hands on' as an assistant to the business.
Guys and gals, you don't know how lovely this will all be! Not to mention that Sunday, I'll be going to Los Angeles to try out for The Voice.
Okay, enough blabber for now. I promise not to spam your dashes next week, or at least I'll try not to.

Now that I got the laptop out...
That's one step towards being less lazy. Pretty soon, I'll have to get up and go start a load of laundry. That means it would be chaos of unlazyness...
Don't mind me. I just had some of Sammie's Skittles... Oh my. Anyways, let's do some recap in bullet form, yes? Here's what's been going on (in no particular order):
I had two Skittles on the table when I went outside to get the mail. When I came back, they were gone. Sneaky toddler isn't really all that sneaky. Point: crazy toddler.
Sam got a stomach bug from my nieces, the Outbreak monkeys. She had it worse but of course passed it to daddy and mommy. Hers lasted a week and a half, ours lasted a day each.
My Aunt's ex husband, Uncle Mike, was in the hospital and in critical condition. It turns out he had Deep Candida Infection. It's a fungal infection from the same family that causes yeast infections and Thrush. When it's Deep Candida, that means that it's worked its way into the blood stream and attacks a few of your vital organs. He had kidney failure and was temporarily in a coma but is doing well! He's still in the hospital but well on his way to a full recovery.
Samantha got her first pair of boots for the winter season, which still technically won't be here until AFTER Thanksgiving (gotta love desert life!). We took her to take pictures in them and that was a whopping failure of an adventure. Tantrums, melt downs and very unhappy mommy and daddy... Just a mess. Out of the 9 pictures the girl was able to take, 2 came out. We only got one on a cd but as soon as I pic up the prints, I'll scan the other and post it so her adorableness can fool you some more.
My dad and stepmom will be coming out to San Diego in late December to attend the Raiders game. Guess who they'll be having lunch with?! :D My dad texted me, then called me and apologized for spoiling the surprise because he wanted to make sure we didn't have plans. Of course, I assured him that he could've been calling to tell me he was five minutes away from the house and I would've dropped any plans I had to receive him. I don't think he knows how serious I am when it comes to that, but at the same time he does.
Now that October has ended and November has begun, the countdown to Brittany and her family moving back to the states is getting shorter and my patience is running out that much more. I can't wait to have someone close to call my own, to have coffee with all weekend long when we visit, for Sammie to have play mates other than strange kids and their even more awkward parents at the mall play area.
That's all I can think of. I also have a dirty diaper to attend to... I really need to get serious with potty training again.
- If you're in the East Coast and have felt Sandy's broken heart, post break up wrath, know that you're in my prayers. -
Peace out, homies.
As you can see, Halloween out in Okinawa and California went well, with the exception of the kids conspiring about a good picture of course. How was your Halloween? What did your little one(s) dress up as?
Sigh.
I know Britt and I aren't on regularly and it's mostly me that comes on and follows other parenting blogs but it doesn't change my attachment. My favorite parenthood blog recently had some bad luck and as a parent, I can't imagine what they're going thru. I'm sorry things didn't work out, I almost cried while reading the "what happened" post. I'm a firm believer in "things happen for a reason" because we'll, it's literally THE story of my life but that doesn't change that I feel so deeply that someday (soon hopefully) you and your family will be blessed with another little one to add to your troop, join in on your adventures and help you eat all the yummy eats you post about. I don't know what your beliefs are but the universe has a plan for you, we're just waiting for the stars to align in the right spots.
Got your coffee cup nice and filled?
Mine is nice and fresh, except it's about to be 11am and I feel awkward because even though I honestly don't care about what time it is, it still is slightly late to be having coffee when it's not winter.
Hubby's ten year reunion starts tonight. Friday night, everyone has been asked to join the football game crowd and wear their Letterman's jacket if they have one. Saturday night is the formal dance and for $60 bucks a head, you can go see the three people you actually hung out with and get ignored by the rest of the 300 something people you wanted nothing to do with all over again! Sunday, there will be a family get together day at the park, which thankfully is literally a ten minute walk from our house, so everyone can meet each other's families. Hubby debated about tonight but too much planning to deal with when it comes to the toddler. I think we've silently agreed to going Sunday, but he's still unsure I think. I don't really care but if it makes him happy, I'm down to meet people I never would've associated with in high school because he was a popular jock and I was a nobody.
Enough bitterness, lol.
His stitches have healed pretty well and he'll be going back to work on Tuesday, the day after my birthday. Monday, I get to celebrate being 26 by taking Samantha to her well check after lunch with her and Hubby. Nothing special, probably very lack luster but it's all good. I'm holding out for my 30th though, that's a big number so I expect a big party. Take note people...
Brittany and Joey have decided to stick around 'til November so they have more time to save up for the trip. Slightly disappointing since I've been struggling with feeling alone and friendless but I can't blame them. At the same time, it's hard to support something that you can't direct your feels to, lol.
I think that's it. I need to make an effort to come on more. If anything, I miss reading the adventures of Lazy Dad and his clan. He posts lots of pictures and has that storytelling charm that draws me in, lol. Why can't I blog like that!? Okay, I can but I get sidetracked by all the other blogs I have. Maybe that's just a sign to work on my blog multitasking skills.
I'll be back soon. Ish.
