Chapter 6/6: After

The rest of the video logs are released, the Ares III crew comes home, and Mark is kind of a big deal.

I can’t believe I finished my first fic! I’ve got plenty more headcanons bouncing around that I want to turn into more Martian fics and oneshots, so hopefully this will be my first of many.

The Twenty-Seventh Week

Well, this is it.  The last 100m of my Disney College Program.

On Sunday, my mother and sister check in to their hotel and that kicks off my actual last week of work.  (Except that it won't feel like work because they'll be here.)

Everyone at work is starting to feel the sadness.  I know most of us are really excited to be done working, but I can tell that we're going to miss everyone else and that's why everyone's super grumpy.

For instance, Enrique's been really quiet, but if you try to talk to him, he'll snap at you.  Naturally, we're all avoiding him.

I've been really lucky to be able to do this program.  It's been wonderful and it's gotten me thinking about coming back.

Unfortunately, that won't be any time soon (unless it's for vacation), but I might do something after I graduate because that will be fun.  I guess.  I don't really know.  I just know that I'm going to miss everyone that I met here this year (especially Enrique, Twinnie, & Stacy).

If any of you ever find this blog, just know that we absolutely must see each other again because I don't think I can handle not seeing any of you on a daily basis.

(PS: I don't have any specific stories from this week, but I would hope that you would have figured that out by now.)

question, what is the dcp winter formal?

I actually have no idea what the theme of the Winter Formal is, but Summer one was a beach party at Typhoon Lagoon after hours!

If I had to guess, I could totally see the DCP Housing department putting on a Frozen themed party for y’all.

EDIT: If you're actually asking what is it, then I'm so sorry for misunderstanding!!!

The DCP Formals are a party put together by Housing for the CP's who are about to leave.  (Kind of like prom before high school graduation.)

However, the Formals aren't like a prom in the sense that you're supposed to dress up super fancy and find a date and buy flowers, but the idea that this is the last chance to blow off major steam before you all leave is the same!

I actually had a lot of fun at the Summer Formal!  But there aren't any pictures because I didn't want my phone to get wet at the water park.

The Twenty-Fifth Week

Work-wise, this week was really short because I had asked for Thursday - Saturday off.

My intention was to go watch Team Starkid's newest production (called "Twisted: The Untold Story of a Royal Vizier"), but I couldn't afford plane tickets home and I still had those three days off, so I called my sorority little and we planned out a Beach Weekend for just the two of us.

It was great Big/Little bonding time!  (And a much-needed mini-vacation from work.  Trust me, everything at work was so crazy and hectic that I was about to snap.  I didn't, but it was close.)

Anyway, the stories from my Beach Weekend with the Little are underneath the "Read More"!

THURSDAY (7/11): Today, of course, besides being Free Slurpee Day at 7-11, was the start of my mini-vacation with my Little.

And right after she picked me up, we went straight to the 7-11 across the street from Vista Way so we could celebrate the holiday correctly.

Then we headed on our way to her family's house (which is huge and beautiful, by the way).

We talked the whole drive, discussed life (hers and mine), laughed, gossiped.  Basically became the best Big/Little pair ever!!!

When we got back to her place, she showed me around, then took me out to dinner at this little Mexican restaurant about a block away from her house.

Then we stayed up practically all night talking and laughing.

FRIDAY (7/12): Today my Little and her family took me to Ybor City, which is this great little section of Tampa where all the best clubs and restaurants are.  It's also got some small boutiques and my Little and I did a little bit of window shopping in the thrift shops.

Later, after dinner, my Little and I ducked into this cute little shop where the owners sold things to make people relax (think chimes and candles and soap).  Well, in the back, there was a selection of weird, half-face masks.

Naturally, we tried a couple on.

We've never looked so good.

SATURDAY (7/13): Today, my Little and her family surprised me with a trip to their beach house.  (We actually left for the house the night before after dinner and shopping, but I got to wake up in the house, so I finally understood how gorgeous it was.)

I mean, could this be anymore like paradise?

After breakfast (which was more like lunch because of how late we woke up), my Little and I went thrift shopping at the local Goodwill.

I ended up buying a skirt, a book, and a pair of roller skates (judge me), but I really wanted to buy this 80's prom dress.

Unfortunately, I couldn't zip it up all the way, so it had to stay at the store.  I can't begin to tell you how sad I was over having to leave it.

Later that night, my Little and I went back to Ybor City to meet up with some of her friends for a party, which was a lot of fun.  My Little's friends are really awesome people!

Then we got back to the beach house around 2 in the morning and I don't remember much else because I'm pretty sure I fell asleep during the car ride home.

But other than that, it was a great start to a great vacation!

The Twenty-Fourth Week

So this week marked the home stretch for me.

July started on Monday, which means that I only have a month left in my program.  I just now realized how much stuff I said I wanted to do while I was down here that I never got around to.

Oh well.  There's always next time?  (I don't even know if there's going to be a next time.  Whatever.)

Anyway, this week was a busy week since it was Fourth of July week.  (I'll get to why that day especially sucked under the "Read More"!)

TUESDAY (7/2):  Today was exceptionally fun because today my friend (and co-worker) Christian and I hosted a DisneyBound party.

For those of you who don't know what DisneyBounding is, it's when people use whatever clothes and accessories he/she has in the closet to make a costume that reminds others of a certain Disney character.

There's even an entire blog dedicated to this and I highly suggest you check it out for inspiration!  (www.disneybound.tumblr.com)

Anyway, Christian and I invited all of our coworkers and our Disney friends and it went really well!

A custodial couple went as Pocahontas and John Smith, while the two hosts and our other friend, Shalayla, went as classic Disney villains.

I, of course, was Hades, my all-time favorite Disney villain.

I just think he's the funniest thing ever.  So sue me.

After the party, we meandered over to the Magic Kingdom to watch the special Fourth of July fireworks.  

We got there early enough in the day to watch the parade, but it had rained so the parade was cancelled.

However, that just meant the Rainy Day Character Cavalcade walked the parade route instead.  And for someone who has seen the 3:00 Magic Kingdom parade quite often, it was a nice refresher from the same-old, same-old.

As for the fireworks, those were the best I have ever seen, hands down.  I mean, look at the finale!!!

Also, the castle was lit up in red, white, and blue lights, so that was super cool.

But that was all the fun that I was going to have for Fourth of July, because I had to work on the actual holiday, which was, by far, the worst day of work I've ever experienced.

THURSDAY (7/4): The park was so crowded today that I ended up hating the entire human race.

(The only nice thing was that there was a fireworks spectacular at the Studios.  But actually, that was the only bright spot in my otherwise dreadful day.)

In fact, I was so angry that I went exercising in the field by the Chatham Square gym at 2 in the morning after I got home.  That helped a little bit, but I was still mad when I went to bed.

The most exciting thing that happened this week is that we started getting some of our newbies.
