Oh my lord - Black Squadron assemble! Now I just need a Chrimbo Bimbo either the night before or after 🤞
Honestly, 90’s teenage me would be amazed if she knew that in 2023 I would be seeing Blur, Pulp, Suede, Ben Folds (not 5 but you can’t have everything), Eddie Izzard, Alan Davies and Adam & Joe live…
I’m listening to taz and getting excited whenever something/someone I’ve seen in fanart finally shows up
I hope that you are enjoying the festivities, sir, and if there is anything that I might do, for as much as you see me as a future king, the habit of service is difficult to break, please do not hesitate to ask! If and when I did become a king and should you come to call, even within my own court, I would always endeavour to serve you faithfully as an ally and a most beloved friend. Please do me the honour of a dance later if I might be so bold on your special day. *bows*
Oh, my dear Stephen! You gracious thing! I am indeed enjoying the festivities! How sweet the elderflower wine is! How joyous the song of the wind through the gardens! And does this crown of laurels woven by my sisters not look very well upon my head? Yes, I am dizzy with happiness, Stephen, but I shall be all the happier when I have the pleasure of dancing with you, I daresay! And you inquire as to if I would ask anything of you… Oh! how steadfast and generous you are! I must confess that such talk from you does stir a righteous greed in me, Stephen - if such a vice could ever be virtuous! I would indeed have you do me courtesies - none that would not be exquisitely agreeable to you, of course! You see, if I were to make a request upon this merry evening, it would be that I might behold your smile, Stephen! I would see you laugh and sigh - I would see you aglow with joy! There is such an enduring rapacity in me for such things and if you would give them, I would not deny myself. Yes, I do suspect that when you take your throne that I shall come to call quite often to pray for such favours. For, you see, your bliss is my own, Stephen!
Oh! I shall return the favor, sir. I think that I know a few of these from observations, but I would love to hear you respond in your own words as you are a person of varied and distinguished habits. Do you prefer the stroke of midnight or the hour before dawn? Would you rather taste dew from an enchanted apple tree's leaves or water from the River that flows between Faerie and Hell? Rose perfume in the bath or lavender?
While the trembling hour before dawn has its distinct charms, I must confess that I find the stroke of midnight to be far superior! One has the vast and sublime potential of the night stretching before them! The darkness awakens the stars, thrills the heart, compels confessions to a hush...In regards to what I would imbibe, I would much rather drink the dew from the leaves of an enchanted apple tree. I do not much care for the taste of ash - those silvery, steaming waters of Hell are much better suited to bathing in than partaking of!And talking of bathwater, as to which perfume I would favour, I have never had the need to develop a preference for either rose or lavender, as they both do so well together! And so, I would yield such a selection to your most capable discrimination, Stephen! What would you, a person of most refined tastes, see me anointed with if it must be only one?
Ah! I see that you concur, Stephen, that the prince has made a most accurate assessment of me! While I am, of course, the foremost authority upon myself, it is a comfort to know that my dear friends know me so very well!
Oh! Well, you see, sir. I was reading Anne Radcliffe and, well apart from the more disturbing bits where innocent ladies are pursued by odious noblemen possessed of horrible intentions, there are many strikingly lovely passages describing the serenity of mountains, lakes, pine woods wavering in rain scented breezes, mountain wildflowers, and eminences terminating in clouds. There is something very peaceful about it. Perhaps we could visit such a place if it were not too much trouble...^^;;
What a modest wish from one so magnificent! Why! with my talents, Stephen, such a journey would be perfectly effortless! And you know very well that I would part raging seas for your pleasure, overturn empires for your amusement, perform Herculean labours for your peace of mind! My dear Stephen, I would be all too happy to do you this humble kindness!
We shall go at once to some obscure retreat! Some faraway glade in the woods of The Blue Islands, where clover paints the ground a glorious emerald and the sunlight is cool and kind! The wildflowers shall gladly greet us, no doubt, and shall all but beg to be plucked, in the hopes of being taken up in your gentle grasp, or woven into my hair, or pinned as posies upon our lapels! The trees shall act as the arcade - their shifting leaves stained glass! - and the mist shall play sweet incense, a dazzling mountain pool a stoup! And so this forest shall serve as your sanctuary, my dear Stephen! I would see you delighted!
