I found The Real Tuesday Weld through a Spike and Mike’s DVD I think? but I was fascinated by the black-and-white animation that looked like cut paper with the nonsense-word lyrics. I found their albums and social media and first there was the podcast I’m pretty sure this originally came from, “Radio Clerkenwell 666,” and then the Bureau of Lost Culture. And in the podcasts you *really* get to hear the voice of Stephen Coates, the front man. (Shit, just Googled his name to verify the spelling--he’s not the same guy as the one To Catch a Predator!)
--but anyway, his voice. I’m really into voices anyway. I’m captivated by non-American accents, and that smokiness, and that intimate pitch, and talking about weird and old things and I’ll be in my bunk.
