The Valentine's Day One-Shot Prompt Event

This is a low-key event with a short posting window and no signups. Participating writers may upload their stories to the Ao3 collection during the dates below, with all stories being revealed on Valentine's Day at noon CST.

All stories must be new, written by you (NO AI), and any art that you may post with the story must be real, whether created by you or commissioned, and not manufactured in any way through or with AI.

Length: 1k minimum; 8k maximum

Posting Opens: Sunday, Feb 1, 2026, at 12:01am CST

Posting Ends: Saturday, Feb 14, 2026, at midnight CST

Stories will be revealed: noon CST on Valentine’s Day

But it’s never so simple, is it? Cue charm magic(?) in the air, lines so blurred they don’t exist, and unhinged shenanigans sure to blow a violent storm through their surroundings~ ✨🌪

THE DETAILS

Each week there are three prompts from which to choose. Sterek Writers are free to choose to write a story for a single prompt or all three prompts, or even combine them all into one piece.

Each prompt can be interpreted however the writer wishes to interpret them. The only limit is the writer’s imagination.

Each story can be any length, with any rating. So whether a writer wants to write a drabble, a ficlet, a one-shot, a novella, or even start a new WIP, it’s entirely up to the writer.

Stiles and Derek can be paired alone or with another character in a triad. Sterek can already know each other, or just be meeting for the first time.

Each week’s prompt is due for posting the last day of that week. However, if a writer misses a prompt or a writer wishes to combine prompts from different weeks, those stories are due the last two days of the month.

If a writer chooses to start a new WIP with any of the prompts, the writer can post the first chapter during the week of the chosen prompt or favorite prompt or wait until the end of the month and post it then. It’s entirely up to the writer.

Coming up in the next few days, Sterek Writers Events will be posting a set of April 2025 writing prompts. These prompts will be done by week/dates with a free-for-all posting day on the last two days of the month. For now, please familiarize yourself with the RULES and FAQ pages. Since we are a low-key event page, we will be working to get things situated behind the scenes.
