Holidays with the Pack
Stiles had seen enough horror movies to know how bad of an idea it was to stay at a cabin in the woods. There was literally a horror movie titled Cabin in the Woods. So when Derek said that he wanted the pack to stay in his family’s old cabin for the holidays, he was reluctant.
After all he and the pack had been through, he was fairly certain they were all in a horror movie. I mean, his best friend had been bitten by a feral werewolf and turned into a werewolf, the girl he had been into could predict deaths, and he had literally been possessed by an evil spirit. The number of horror tropes in his life wasn’t even funny at this point, and whoever was writing the script was a total dick.
But he eventually relents, because Derek almost never asks for anything, and he’ll be damned if he passes up an opportunity to make him smile.
So he’s fully prepared to experience some Evil Dead or Cabin Fever shit, and just hopes having a pack of werewolves at his side will increase his chances of survival.
But then he gets there and... well, it certainly doesn’t scream horror.
The pack cuddles by the fire, they bake cookies and drink hot chocolate, they curl up under blankets and watch snow fall. He’s too cozy to even care if this is just the beginning of the movie that lulls the audience into a false sense of security.
It’s when he kisses Derek under the mistletoe that he finally decides to let go of all of his fears and apprehensions.
He’s done being in a horror movie. It’s time he get to be in a Hallmark movie.
