Lagunitas Stereohopic (Picked up at Windmill Farms). A 3 of 4. Primarily pine and orange citrus with some tropical fruit mixed in. Almost a touch of diacetyl in the nose too, but it quickly dissipates. The body is a nice mix of fruit and earthy hop notes -- there’s a lot to the hop profile on this. Firmly bitter and medium body -- pretty classic West Coast IPA with a twist on the hop profile.
Looking for th 180 gram, quadrahopic release . . .
. . . but some would argue that mono retains a certain purity.
Lagunitas Stereohopic IPA Vol. 2 w/ Elixir & Loral (Picked up at Trader Joe’s). A 3 of 4. Lots of spice and resin with some fainter floral notes, too. The body has a nice bit of malt roast to it and the malt sweetness in the background helps balance the relatively aggressive, resinous bite. As this warms there are a few interesting tropical notes, too, but the hop profile is a nice change of pace.
