marriage. it sounds as silly as it feels, like she could live a thousand lives & never see this happening. oh, well. it’s still a good thing - another one crossed out from love’s lengthy list of ‘to do before i dip’. plus, she doesn’t have to worry about the dark shit that accompanies the institution; the damned fights, kids, poverty & stability. then why does she still feel weird? blonde often finds herself glancing at the awful wedding ring slapped on her elegant finger, contrasting with the raggedy looking chipped nail polish. it’s a part of her routine now, each night she forces herself to sleep, ends up staring at the ring, the walls or the empty twitter feed ( which one is more pathetic? that she cannot decide ). it feels heavy for a cheap piece of metal. the only remedy of the situation is knowing .. she wouldn’t have to be alone all the time, at least, the most of the time. love tiptoes out of her room, hesitating just seconds before she knocks on his door. fuck. “you up?” she senses the weakness in her tone, like she’s waiting for a sign from him to start crying. hell no? ‘gotta save face,’ she thinks to herself, silently entering the room without waiting for a reply. “it just occurred to me that you never really carried me inside? like the bridal style? what’s up with that, hubby?”
