KCRW's Steve Chiotakis talks to "To the Point" host, Warren Olney about the week at the Republican National Convention.
Here's a recap:
Monday: Not a lot happened as the storm forced Republicans to cancel the first day of the convention.
Tuesday: Delegates were energized by Ann Romney and Chris Christie
Wednesday: They loved hearing Condoleeza Rice, and Paul Ryan's Tea-Party speech. No indication that Romney/Ryan are trying to move toward the center.
Thursday: Mitt's challenge was to take the convention away from Ryan and to humanize himself.

Lawmakers in Sacramento passed the “Homeowner Bill of Rights,” meant to offer borrowers more protections in fighting foreclosure. Attorney General Kamala Harris sponsored the legislation, and estimates 700,000 Californians are in the foreclosure pipeline. Stuart Gabriel, director of the Ziman Center for Real Estate at UCLA, spoke to KCRW's Steve Chiotakis about what this bill will do for struggling homeowners in the state.
Jason Bentley on Why Austin Is Worth The Trip
KCRW's Steve Chiotakis looks at what compels bands to make the trip to Austin for the SXSW festival each year.
Take a listen, he speaks about this with KCRW music director Jason Bentley, SXSW Creative Director Brent Grulke, and also Moheak Radio program director TK, who this year organized the LAxLA festival as an opportunity for those bands that couldn't make the haul.

So I have this odd habit (just the one) every morning in the car while I'm driving to work, the Marketplace morning report comes on at 7:50, and every morning, like it's his job Steve Chiotakis introduces himself. My weird little habit is that when he says "I'm Steve Chiotakis", I say it right along with him. Every morning. Without fail. I got to work a few minutes early today and I waited in my car so I could say it along with him. It's gotten to the point where I've thought about odd little situations where I would want clothing with the phrase on it- specifically I'd like one of those Columbia jackets where they have the name of the coat on the back of the neck, but rather than "Bugaboo" or "Freakum Dress", the neck would say "I'm Steve Chiotakis". I've started drawing comic book characters just so they can have a word bubble and introduce themselves, as Steve Chiotakis.
This is what it is like, at the mountains of madness.
