Wedding Crashers opened in the US on 15 July 2005.

Producer Andrew Panay had the idea of the movie, based on his own experiences, and hired Steve Faber and Bob Fisher to write the screenplay. Director David Dobkin was eager to re-team with Vince Vaughn (who he directed in 1998's Clay Pigeons) and Owen Wilson (who he directed in 2003's Shanghai Knights). Dobkin cast unknowns Bradley Cooper without watching his audition tape, and Isla Fisher (although she was well-known in Australia and the UK due to her soap opera work).

Wedding Crashers was a box office success, becoming the 6th highest-grossing film of the year in the US, and the first R-rated film to earn more than $200 million at the box office.

Here’s a quite funny movie that I saw, the other day. Honestly, I don’t expect much from comedy movies, nowadays, but this one is pretty nice. It follows your typical comedy formula, but I feel like it does it in a creative way...for the most part. It’s a charming movie, overall. The acting is nice, the plot makes no sense and the comedy has some good moments. Overall, a decent comedy movie...but don’t watch it with kids. It has some raunchy jokes (come on, the movie even shows you an infected dick).
