The second misconception is that you have to have a gift for learning languages. I speak 10 languages, so people just say, “Oh, well you just have a gift.” I don’t believe that and I’ll tell you why. If you go to countries like Sweden, Holland or Singapore, everybody speaks more than one language. It’s not a big deal there....

Learn the necessary about grammar. Don't mind the duration, think about the final result. Less mistakes. Same with pronunciation. Repeat until it's good, not perfect.

And focus on the content that you're reading and listening to. Get roughly suggestions of what phrases mean by context. That's the "cognitive ease' at use. Focus on the moment you're having, keeping in mind your goal. SPEAK ENGLISH!

That is our ‘cognitive ease’. So, the more I can do with my quick learning, pre-prepared patterns that are already created in my mind, the better off I am and the more I enjoy my language learning.
