Tucka Da’ Huntaman: “Da Hunt Is On” b/w “Watch Your Back” (1995)

Here’s something that shocked me: Tucka’s only release was a 12″ single. Aside from a guest verse on Bodyrock’s “Groove With You Tonight (Crush Sounds Flippy RMX)” (’94), that’s it. Despite backing from DJ Red Alert and production from Steve Stoute, Tucka Da Huntaman was only signed to Profile for one single and left the industry entirely without releasing any more music ever again. Not much information is to be found and no one even knows what became of him, making him a real one-hit wonder in the most literal sense. Everyone took note of his unusual vocal style when hip-hop radio stations played “Watch Your Back” and that’s what made him stand out if even for a few months in 1995 when he stuck around.
