Steve watches as Logan paws at the pants he left in a pile on the floor until he gets his hands on a cigar.
“You got a light?” Logan asks over his shoulder, then the corner of his mouth quirks up in the most gorgeous, infuriating kind of half smile. “Or does a pretty boy like you not smoke?”
Steve wants to bite the smile off of Logan's mouth. Instead, he reaches into his nightstand drawer and fishes out Bucky's old lighter, tossing it over his shoulder at Logan a little harder than necessary.
“There you go,” Steve says stiffly.
Logan chuckles and lights his cigar, wisps of smoke billowing between them and suddenly making him seem so far away.
“You want a puff before I go, bub?” Logan asks gruffly. That was fast, Steve thinks.
“Excited to get outta here?” Steve asks, but when Logan lifts the cigar to his mouth, he obliges and leans in for a share of his smoke.
“Staying’s a bad habit,” Logan says, and Steve can feel his eyes on him as he wraps his lips around the tip of his cigar. “Not personal.”
Steve pulls off. “Kinda feels personal.”
“Why, you like it when I stick around?”
Steve leans his head back against the headboard and blows the smoke out of his mouth, not answering the question.
