Ponyville Library

Toy looked at the three creatures gathered before him- An earth pony, a human, and some other form of two legs he hadn't encountered before. They were less than he'd hoped, but more than he'd expected. Walking over to them, Toy tried to explain what was going on.

"I'm not going to mince words, so here's the short version. Something inside this library is damaging reality and allowing more entropy into the world. Our mission is to find the artifact or being that is doing it, and stop it. Stay in sight of eachother and try not to die."

With this he turned to the large double doors and pushed them open, revealing the main room.

The library's main hall is a large circle of about fifteen metres across with a balcony running around the rim a few metres off the ground. A few large windows do little to illuminate the room in the fading daylight. Large bookcases still filled with old tomes cover the walls.

There are two articles of interest on the floor among the dust and debris: An old metal cage set against one wall, empty save for what appears to be a pile of purple furs in one corner, and a massive fleshy growth bursting from below the floorboards in the centre of the room. It trembles occasionally, and movement can sometimes be seen through the paper-like film on the largest growth.

There are four exits:

-The double doors you just came from on the north wall

-A heavy wooden door set into the floor slightly in the south-eastern wall

-An open doorway in the western corner, leading into another large room.

-A gateway on the balcony. Although it is open, the other side cannot be seen from this angle.
