Turns out I’m actually like. Soft disowned by my family. (Except my (Lesbian) Aunt and her partner)

I’ve never been so sad and depressed in my entire life.

I’ve always been able to bounce back from stuff like this, keep a smile, stay positive, eat well. Even when I was going through suicidal ideations!

Now I have no appetite.

I just feel empty and awful.

Backstory/context below cut

So last holiday season I went to my family home and there was a big fuss about me having facial hair, specifically by my father, I ended up shaving it off to keep the peace.

Then I spent a good chunk of my time there miserable bc I was back to being a doormat about my identity to keep the peace. Since it’s sinful to be trans and all that. Got deadnamed and she/her’d the whole time.

But it hurt more bc I’m on my own (mostly) now and have been allowed to be more true self ever since I left. All my friends up here fully support me and even most of the rural folks of this small town see “that guy with boobs and high voice working at the only grocery store in town” and don’t give a fuck.

So now that I’m back on T and plan to go as far as I can with my transition…I realized that the conversation I had with mom about a month ago about how Dad had absolutely forbid me from having facial hair in his house completely conflicted with that. I mean, I knew but I guess I didn’t connect all the dots.

Plus my entire extended family on both sides (sans Aunt Leanne) all feel the same way. Extremely uncomfortable with me being around them with facial hair or asking to be called Steven and he/him.

So…yeah. I was always super close with my parents, especially my mom, and I admired my dad a lot as a kid.

I love my family so much. It’s not fair.

I did some math the other day to find a general estimate of how many hours I've spent drawing and like, it's not even funny. For digital completed pieces I have 1995 files. I multiplied that number by a general amount each year for how many hours I day I would spend drawing. It averages out to be 4.3 hours a day. So the total of Number of Drawings multiplied by Time for Each Drawing adds up to 8676.

8676 hours is 361 days. That's a full entire year of my life dedicated only to digital artwork.

It's very strange to think about and it's no wonder I've got carpal tunnel. Hopefully this encourages rather than discourages people. You'll get to where you want to be, it just take time and real honest practice. Get out of your comfort zone.
