I missed one day just to take a little break but here’s a compilation of stevenbomb art from this week, they were really good! :D
It's over, isn't it?
The difference *Bubbled Spoilers!*
In this episode, we see a serious difference between Rose and Bismuth: Bismuth WANTED to kill. She saw shattering as a FIRST resort. Rose Quartz...didn't WANT to kill. Garnet makes that clear when she points out it wasn't what's best for ROSE. It wasn't what she WANTED to do...but she HAD to. Here's the thing with Garnet explaining it: Garnet...was one of Rose's first recruits. One of the first to join in...when GARNET said the words HAD and ONLY WAY, she MEANS IT. You KNOW that Rose would've asked Garnet if there WAS another way, and Garnet would've looked to the best of her abilities. Garnet is many things...but she's not one to sugercoat something about the war. She HAS been harsh about it before, Pearl is the one who romanticizes it. It's clear that Rose killing Pink Diamond was a LAST resort. And we STILL don't know the exact context of HOW it happened. Of WHY it was the only way. Also...this and Jasper's breakdown shows just how deep the Diamonds have their claws in their subjects: Let's not sugarcoat it: the Diamonds are monsters. They don't view their followers as anything but expendable pawns. They're planet looting alien invaders who we've seen how terrible they are to their minions...and yet Jasper and Eyeball are obsessed with their lost Diamond. Why? Because the Diamonds have ingrained it so far into their people's heads that 'without me you have no value' that they genuinely can't think outside of that context without certain things happening. And that's TERRIFYING. Also, the Crystal Gems now have a captured MODERN Homeworld ship. Not a warship, mind you, but still, give Peridot access to that and it could REALLY help them out.
