Good Morning Everyone!! Pyrite is done and I’m so excited.
Color palette changed a lot but I’m incredibly happy with her design.
Inspiration include another bispearl design linked in my previous post here. As well as jazz dancers and their dresses she was so incredibly fun to design.
Bismuth/Bisexual
Bisexual- sexually attracted to two or more genders.
The classic rainbow crystals of bismuth are not its natural form. Most natural bismuth looks like any other metal, except for a pinkish tinge. Bismuth oxychloride is commonly used in cosmetics to smooth texture and as a pearlescent pigment.

Slag - Bismuth sample
Molten bismuth oxidizes in seconds. This is what forms its iconic colors thanks to thin film inteference, but it also creates this unattractive slag.

Broken ingot - Bismuth sample
I made this ingot on the side while working on independent crystals to show bismuth's internal crystal structure. Since bismuth is brittle, I could snap it in half with my hands. I used a ceramic ramekin as the mold, which I ended up having to break to release the bismuth.
