there are so many things to mourn about stranger things rn but honestly one of the biggest losses for me was the genuine horror element they managed to keep up until s5. like this used to be a SCARY show. the genre used to be fantasy/horror, that's one of the things that made it so interesting. they really shot themselves in the foot when they just completely dropped that for s5 because most of the other seasons (ESPECIALLY s4) were horror MASTERPIECES at times, like they were gorgeous and they were scary and that was SO fun and SO interesting. im not saying there werent moment in s5 that came close BUT like especially the finale was pretty much on par with a marvel movie and i dont understand why they did that
