It’s been nearly a week since Matthew Helms disappeared, and people are getting desperate. His family have sent out pleas to every major news station for help, and the Hawkins Police Department are begging for any clue that could lead to his return. Still, nothing.
The best course of action, it has been decided, is to begin a town wide search in the hope that somebody will find something. Some people are dismal, making no effort to hide the thought that if anything is found, it will be a body. Others, however, still insist that there’s hope yet for the Helms boy.
The local police have paired up all citizens that expressed a willingness to help, which was a majority of the town. Any evidence of the missing boy’s presence should be immediately reported to a nearby officer. Thank you for your help.

Almost a month had passed since the disappearance of Matthew Helms, most of the town started to continue life as usual, while some still did all they can to search for him. But, like with any news story, those unaffected had no other options but to move on with their lives. Even the station was looking less. It wasn’t until Sunday, the 20th of November, four days before Thanksgiving that the town was once again on RED ALERT. A blizzard had rolled into town, and it was nothing like Hawkins’ had ever seen before. Large pellets of hail plummeting down, wind at a record high speed, and within no time at all, the town had lost power, and the hail turned to heavy snow. It didn’t take long for the town to go on lock down mode, doing everything to help neighbors, those in need out.
IN CHARACTER: Your character will have to take on the storm in all its glory, taking into account that it is 1994, there was little technology and for the sake of this event, few generators are in use ( places with working generators: the hospital, the community college & Hawkin’s lab ), though this is definitely subject to change, as is anything within the time frame of the event. And keep in mind, the start of the storm is low key and it will gradually worsen, so any starters created today or tomorrow should reflect that, and we’ll make announcements throughout as things worsen.
OUT OF CHARACTER: We’re going to be throwing things out there throughout the event, if people wish to have anything drastic happen to their characters, please do message the main. For starters, please use the tag STHQS:EVENT2 as opposed to STHQS:EVENT that is reserved for admin usage only. If you have any questions, please message us and we’ll do our best to help.
The event will start NOW and will carry on for a week ( 2nd January 2018 )
In character the event starts on Sunday the 20th of November and lasts until Sunday the 27th of November.

HAWKINS, INDIANA PRESENTS
THE TOWN’S ANNUAL HALLOWEEN FAIR.
Despite Matthew’s disappearance discovery that morning, the town was still in full preparation for the Annual Halloween fair hosted in the town center. Booths already set in, entertainment from out of town. The weekend long event includes a series of FUN events for all ages. From Haunted Hayrides through the fogged night, corn mazes, pumpkin patches and more, there’s something for everyone.
This event is to kick off the opening of STRANGERTHINGSHQS. OUT OF CHARACTER it'll last from Friday, the 8th of December until Monday, the 11th of December. IN CHARACTER, however it'll start from Friday, the 28th of October until Monday, the 31st of October. It's certainly not a mandatory event, though we hope all characters do make an appearance. We certainly have more plans in store for this WEEKEND LONG EVENT.

I do apologize for not getting this posted sooner in regards of plotting, but life has been hectic for all of us. DISCLAIMER: The storm still in full, only worsening, very few things in function aside from a single local radio station, something that most townsfolk have access to in one way or another ( whether it be at home, or at a diner, place of work, etc.
BREAKING NEWS: BELOVED OFFICER FOUND DEAD.
It was at the brink of dawn, the HIGH PITCHED screeching from my old school radio startled me out of a near slumber. I was out cold, there was little to be reported. But that’s when I first heard the static, suddenly very alert, sirens blaring through the town. Was this it? Had they found Matthew Helms? Or was I in a deep slumber, having a nightmare? Questions stirred in my mind, that was of course until I heard a familiar officer on the line. There was talk of a body, a DEAD body. One found by two students, names hazy as I struggled to make them out over the poor signal, though I didn’t think much of it, I was more curious about the body, and suddenly my fingers were moving rapidly against the keyboard of my typewriter.
A series of police codes called out, some I recognized, others I didn’t care much for but then one that she definitely did recognize was repeated quite frequently, and it wasn’t until the fifth time, that she worked out what it was. TEN DOUBLE-ZERO, “ officer down ,” had she heard that right? But with the amount of times they were listed, she had to have. An officer down, in Hawkins. MURDERED. Not caring about the time, I quickly gathered my coat, a notepad and jotted down the address and followed the lead to the crime scene, this was an article in need of reporting. This was something worth freezing my fingers off for.
Later in the day, it was revealed by the officers that the slain police officer, though made to look accidental was someone that had heavily investigated not only Matthew’s disappearance but the mysteriously laboratory on the outskirts of town. Most of his coworkers shrugging off his remarks, believing his claims to be ridiculous and even impossible. Sure, the place was always viewed as a creepy setting, somewhere joked about, but never did they believe any of the tales, the myths but now just months after the fifteen year old’s disappearance he’s found in the forest DEAD.

The Power is now out, the only place still with running electricity is the laboratory. So, suspicions are rising as they see lights still on. The town, however is covered in snow, massive amounts of it. The roads are a mess, and almost everything is closed within the town, some people may even be snowed in, in certain parts of town. Take this time to go wild, maybe people are exploring where they shouldn’t, when they shouldn’t...who knows?
