Christie’s International Real Estate Announces the Artistic Renderings of Arts and Craft Architectural Residence inspired by The Gamble House. Located at 13150 SW Iron Mountain Blvd in Portland Oregon’s Dunthorpe Neighborhood. The Arts and Crafts movement in architecture is a love note to artisan craftsmanship. It sings the praises of beautiful natural materials and the masters who coax them into beams and pillars, panels and plaster. It's an ode to taking the time to create, to lay by hand and pay painstaking attention to detail. From the first glimpse of this 6,817 sq. foot home in Portland's Dunthorpe neighborhood, it is clear that it is a loving tribute to the all best of Arts and Crafts and built with a careful attention to detail with an aim to incorporate all the benefits of today's technology and amenities. Rising to popularity during the early part of the 20th century on the West Coast, Arts and Crafts architecture embodies a combination of Old Hollywood glamor and working-class sensibilities the give the style a timeless appeal. Two brothers, Charles and Henry Greene, are credited as founders of the movement and it is their landmark 1908 Gamble House in Pasadena, CA that served as inspiration for this beautiful gated estate on a 1.4 acre lot. Built by award-winning Lake Oswego builder, Stoneridge Custom Development, this home is the amalgamation of the work of many of the area's top artisans and craftspeople. Their importance to the creation of this home is memorialized in a plaque hanging near the front door.
