Relentless focus on the positive.
My dog is apparently okay (good dog).
I might be able to get another piece done for the October @wipweek.
Hallowe'en is coming.
I am nearly done the first skein of my three-skein knitting project.
Dammit, weekend
Okay. Weekend goals, now that I have been prodded by @productivityhour :
🏃♀️ Interactions
get outside
get out to the con
squeak over pens and give someone a notebook
definitely attend the nice police officer’s talk on bribes
reply to texts
write and mail note to my mom
✍️ Writing
work on one of my two kinda-committed pending WIPs (need a complete draft, not a collection of overlapping scenes)
get to crit (important, since it’s for me this week)
think about crit feedback
look at revising one of my original works (possibly not the one being critted)
📚 Reading
catch up on fics
finish at least two books
shrink the owned-and-to-read book list (either cull or read)
🕯️ Other stuff
knit
update my Ravelry stash
schedule the next round of crit group
catch up on all paperwork/bills
I can do these. I can. I can.
Lisa Anne Auerbach - Let's Get Rid of Positives And Negatives (Positive and Negative) 2014
Taking stock
I didn't write for NNWM yesterday, but I'm still at slightly over 9K words, and I should be able to get some writing done this evening. So that's okay for the moment. I'm hitting that point where the call of anything but this is strong, and Story Hospital is being very useful.
My owned-and-to-read pile is still at 229. On the plus side, the number of books I'm currently reading is down to 14, so that's progress. Also, knowing that I should be focussing on the ones from 2017 so I can nominate on and vote for the Hugos is helping give me direction.
I bought a sweater quantity of yarn on sale, in a sort of raisin colour. Narrowed it down to five patterns, yay!
I may need to learn to knit soon. Which is ridiculous, because I have NO FREE TIME. But there are things I want made, and it would be a nice way to honor Mom's memory.
