Snowdin Forest is brighter than the Ruins.  Not by a considerable margin, but noticeably brighter.  The bright flash that engulfs Frisk when they emerge from the Ruins and take their first step into the blanket of snow, however, is entirely new and altogether unexpected.  When they come to they will do so at their last SAVE in the Ruins with the dawning realization that they had just died.

Sans is waiting for them on the other side of those heavy doors, shuffling snow off his slippers.  Soon, Frisk will appear again.

And he will kill them.

“ OH GOD , FRISK . ARE YOU HURT ? “ worry is running through his veins , what kind of guardian leaves the one he’s protecting away like that ? he’s scanning the small child’s face and arms for any sign of injury . sweat is dropping like rain from his face , his eyes widened .

Perhaps the child was a glimmer of - hope, one he ought not to take.  It was a fantasy of sorts, what could a single infant do?

      One hand grasping around own ANKLE, the other was raised to give the       young human a THUMBS-UP:  everything  is  okay.  The genuine SMILE of       scarred  lips was not  ENTIRELY  a lie,  after  all.  Of  course it  HURT,  but       they would  not  let young one  WASTE  time worrying about the  simple       ACCIDENT of slipping from one of the lower ROOFS. ( It was nothing new )

    However,  neither would APPRECIATED concern be brushed off,  now-free hand     outstretched towards them as though wishing to SHAKE theirs. But considering     the  CIRCUMSTANCES,  it might be a kind request for ASSISTANCE in standing up.     It did not matter if adolescent was TALLER and STRONG enough; indulge them.

--- she asks them, tired eyes cast over the child’s small form. her gaze darts across the bandages lining their face and their arms, the stick held tightly in their fist. she’s not sure what, exactly, they’re doing here --- she’s never seen them before & she thinks they look a little confused.
