Below is Eliza’s badges, as well as the interview held with her on her story! Some questions were sent in by readers, thank you for input and help with this interview!

What was your inspiration behind the story?

So the inspiration behind the story is pretty simple, Harry’s mixtape from the Another Man shoot. I thought that nothing would ever compare to actually knowing what those songs mean to Harry, and how he carefully chose them for something that he knew would make us lose our minds, but that it would be fun to try and create my own story for the songs. Also, I’ve been wanting to do a best friend story for ages, and the opportunity arose while I listened to the songs.

How did you create scenes that specifically fit to each song of the playlist?

It wasn’t easy, I’ll be completely honest. Obviously, I like some of the songs more than others. I preferred Bridge Over Troubled Water, way more than I liked Heart of the Country or Breathe which made the scene where they do each other’s makeup stick out from the very beginning. It was always going to be that song with that scene. Other one’s, like adding the specific reference to the song like Ooh Love or Drown In My Own Tears made it a bit easier, but I wanted to make sure each song had a place. So yes, some of the references are easier than others, and some chapters I don’t even mention the song. It really just depends on how I felt about the song, or how I felt the song would properly go along with the story.

What is your creative process?

In general, I have to talk about my fic with someone. I need to have someone who will talk over ideas with me and help me make sure that what I’m doing is right and that I’m writing something people will want to read. In terms of getting inspiration, the more head-canon’s I make the better. Talking about what I’m writing makes me want to write.

How did you pick your FC (Barbie Ferreira)?

I definitely just googled “plus-size models” and found her while I was scrolling. But, I don’t know why I decided to make Ellery plus-sized, it just kind of felt right. I don’t know. But, as soon as I saw Barbie I knew right then and there that she was going to be Ellery. It helps that they honestly look gorgeous together.

How long do you see yourself writing 1DFF?

I don’t know, man. I’m getting new ideas for more than just fics, and like all of them are going to be coming at me with content soon and I don’t think I’m ready for it, but I’m sure as hell ready to write about it. So like, at least another year. Probably more.

Even though the main story is over, will you continue to write about Ellery and Harry?

Yes! I’ve got a few novellas up my sleeve.

What story of yours is another favourite? Why?

I really love my one-shot, When Harry Met Sally. I wrote it for the summer exchange, and that was something I worked really hard on and pushed myself to write something different, and more prose, I think. I don’t know, I just think the entire thing feels really nostalgic, and as I writer I felt accomplished once I finished it.
