Hey Darling! Sorry for the delay but here is your drabble.
Chris sighs, slumping back against the wall of the warehouse. He’s tired, his body aches, reminding him rather painfully of his age and why it isn’t that clever to run with teenaged wolves. Or even middle-aged wolves.
They just have an engery that he lacks these days.
Breathing still feels like too much work but he keeps going until his heart-rate returns to something closer to normal. Blood still rushes through his veins, pounds in his ears, drowning out most of the sounds around him. He has to trust the pack to keep him and the other humans save.
Not that Scott will let anything happen to either of them.
He may be young and sometimes rather naive, but there still is that cleverness inside him. It may have rubbed off from Stiles though - because this plan? This plan has Stiles written all over but Scott has been the one who thought it up, since Stiles has been kidnapped three days prior.
“You okay?” The question catches Chris off-guard and his hand lifts the gun without a conscious thought. But it’s just Peter, who’s by no means harmless. Chris is under no illusions that he has changed Peter. No matter what the others say.
Because he knows one thing: the side that the rest of the pack see as a changed Peter - it’s actually a side Chris has already known back in their teenaged years. When everything had been so easy compared to their current days.
“Stop thinking about the past,” Peter murmurs, pushing the gun down with a, surprisingly, gentle hand. There is almost no space between them now. It’s grounding somehow, allowing Chris to anchor his thoughts back in the present time.
“That’s it,” Peter smirks, before leaning forward for a kiss. He catches Chris’ bottom lip between his own and gently tugs on it. The motion never fails to chase a shiver down his spine. Just like it does now.
“Let’s go home.” The words a barely a whisper and Chris isn’t sure if they are his own or Peter’s. He doesn’t really care though. Not when the night has been another trip through hell.
So he just nods and allows Peter to pull him out of the warehouse.
