One of the best I’ve ever read is Cards on the Table by AsexualDerek (Cameral). 

Stiles comes home to his dad after being honorably discharged from the FBI. He’s less than he was, but maybe that’s not so bad. (This is a Stilinski-cest fic, don’t like? don’t read)

At first when John found out he had two soulmates he was confused and afraid. There was only two ways someone got two soulmates 1)was platonic or you would be in a triad and those were rare 2)your first died and you had a second one for after. Now the second option wasn't common and no one knew why some got a second soul mate and others didn't.

When John met Claudia he forgot all about his second mark. They were perfect for each other in the only way soul mates can be. They got married moved from New York to California bought a house and soon were settled. John got a job as a deputy, his time in the service making that easy and he didn't have to go through the academy. Claudia got a job at the library and was catering on the side as well. They were happy and doing jobs that they loved. A year later Claudia was pregnant and after 9 long months they welcomes Mechizlaw Fealin Stilinski to the world. John had everything he had ever wanted.

They had 8 wonderful years, then one day Claudia forgot to pick up Stiles, and then she left her walet and keys places. She got worse and fast, so they went to the doctor. She was sick, she was sick and they could do nothing. It killed them all.

Two years they watched her fall apart his little Mechi turned into Stiles and when his mother started to grab for his hair in her fits he shaved it all off but never left her side.

The day she flatlined seemed to shatter him and his small son, John didn't forget about soul marks and what they could give a person. He knew what they could take a way and as he tried to cover up that ach, that pain by drinking whiskey until he blacked out his son was hoping to never get one.

But John got sober after a while a scary close call when he was driving Stiles to school. He had come off a double and instead of going to sleep like he should have he drank untill stiles got up and made then food, he was driving them over even though he knew he shouldn't and he had the radio on since it was too quite with the lack of babble coming from Stiles and he started to fall asleep almost causing them to run into another car. But as they were trying to swerve and miss anyone someone ran straight into them t-boning the car on Stiles's side. The sound of his son's screams and cries would haunt him. When they could finally go home John took his kid who had a broken leg inside, got him settled then got rid of ever drop of alchohol in the house.

It's been years now and Stiles is turning 18 tomorrow and he is gonna get his soul mark, John isn't sure he is ready to lose his beautiful baby boy yet. And no matter what Stiles says John knows he is gonna have a soul mark.

He just doesn't know that it will change everything for them. Their skins hold so many stories, and they are going to get so many more.

Omega!Sheriff

SO cyberratting you were asking about my Omega!Sheriff feels? Let me tell you a thing. 

I still have feels about that gifset. About the Sheriff, old enough that he’s almost forgotten what heat feels like, what the warning signs are, going about his life like he’s a beta. He’s been around and in a position of power long enough that people don’t even treat him like he’s Omega anymore. But one day he wakes up and feels....off.

Not bad, not good, but not sick enough to not go to work.

And yeah, some of the Alpha’s seem antsy around him but the town went to hell like...6 months ago, they’re all on the edge of their seats. And sure, Parrish wrinkles up his nose when he hands over the morning coffee but Parrish has a hell of a lot on his mind right now and John isn’t really inclined to pay it any mind.

And it just gets worse. To the point where John can’t even sit still in his chair because his lower back is twinging and he’s lightly cramping and feels like he’s itchy all over. And everyone gives him a wide berth because he’s snappy and churlish the entire day....until Stiles comes to visit.

John isn’t really even tracking what he’s saying, so distracted, until Stiles suddenly goes quiet and moves in with animal purpose. It’s so odd that it grabs his attention, makes him watch the way Stiles’ nostrils flare as he sniffs at him, body close enough to brush his. 

He gets it about a second after Stiles does, body going hot and loose just as Stiles’ pupils dilate and his mouth falls open in shock. And damnit, he knew staying on suppressants for too long had the chance of them failing, but he didn’t think it would actually happen to him.

Of course, he also didn’t think his own Alpha son would pin him to the desk and rut against his hip, snuffling into the curve of his jaw like he’s trying to drown himself in John’s scent.

But John finds he doesn’t mind that as much.
