yeah this is definitely some hellboy-level nazi/norse mythology mashup. It should be noted that if Hauptmann is his last name and not his rank, there was an Ilse Hauptstein in the group that brought hellboy to earth to aid the nazis in winning the war. I know there have been hellboy/teen wolf metas done previously, largely because of doug jones’ involvement in the show and the uncanny likeness between kroenen and the dread doctors... which in itself is a bit uncanny considering who kept this brain-eating fucker alive since the second world war.

so I’m guessing most of his old squad are now riders.

about malia’s shirt- I wonder if it’s not about possession, but rather usage of power. if I’m right and the nogitsune uses the powers of the host instead of bringing its own, then everything we saw the nogitsune do was things stiles was capable of but never did. malia wearing that shirt as she becomes closer to her coyote side might be a nod to that, not possession.

you wanna know the funniest shit about this? people who’ve followed me for a while might remember the thing I said about stiles’ view on killing being inspired by noah (not okay unless it’s in defence) and scott’s being inspired by melissa (the hippocratic oath; do no harm) and here we have melissa, seeing the need to break that oath and being fully willing to do so to keep others from dying. dude. I wonder what scott would say.

running thoughts. teen wolf. a week late, I know.

oh man, we’re in for a treat right away. one of the names on the arrival board is Pripyat, the working town where the Chernobyl disaster happened in 1986. that’s also where Deaton went in Ouroboros for leads on the dread doctors and got kidnapped by the desert wolf instead.  after that comes boneville, and when I googled that and disappearances I got a page about a missing bonneville power administration worker who disappeared in 1987 from a power station. bodie, ca, seems to be a ghost town, according to another quick googling. so we have two ghost towns, one abandoned gigantic power plant and one missing power plant worker. both power plants, missing people and ghost towns have been big issues in this show so far. the arrival towns are all ghost towns, or civilizations that have disappeared. 

goddamn my ep is low quality. if I miss something it’s probably because I can’t fucking see

interesting tidbits about the s6 casting according to imdb this far

looking like corey, his sister lori, sydney and hayden are very recurring, guessing at least victoria moroles will be a main this season. brett is back, too.

patrick gorman as an elias stilinski in ep 3. he was also in the maid of gevaudaun as tolbert, the man who asked marie-jean to lead the hunting party. judging by his looks and age I’m thinking he’s sheriff stilinski’s older brother. 

caitlin custer who played heather is back for several episodes (4, 12, 13, 15 and 17), which either means a ton of flashbacks or something fishy is up with the deceased

alisha boe plays a new character (she’s been mentioned in previous press releases, no idea about character or story yet) and is pretty frequent after ep 3-4

ian bohen is back in 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 16

clarke, hayden’s sister, is in more eps this season

so is liam’s step-dad

strauss, the deputy who had theories about the supernatural, is back for a few of eps 

there’s a lenore, both young and old, in ep 6, so flashbacks

joey honza, claudia stilinski, is back in ep 7 and 8

anthony lapenna, young stiles, is back in ep 7, 8 and 20

ep 8 includes young stiles, possibly kate argent, deaton, deucalion, claudia, satomi and chris argent. so flashback episode, and it’s gonna hurt like a motherfucker

actually deucalion is back a lot of episodes

ep 9 includes rafael mccall, satomi and deucalion

meredith is back in ep 16

honestly, based on all this, I’m guessing this will actually be the season stiles’ powers come into play for real, whatever they may be. in episode 8 especially.

rewatching s2, and when Matt shoots Scott the sheriff yells Scott's name before Stiles', he's handcuffed in a different room and he doesn't think of his own son first, made me sad.

You’re entirely right.

Melissa: You scared me, where is every - Scott: Mom, just do what he says. He promised he wouldn’t hurt you. [shoots Scott]Matt: He’s right. Sheriff: Scott! Stiles! What happened?

This is such a small thing, so it’s easy to overlook when watching it. But after so many seasons of the sheriff obviously caring about Stiles and he clearly loves him, and yet he’s consistently preferring Scott over Stiles. This is just another little example and I agree, it’s sad and quite heartbreaking. 

I’ve rambled on the topic of stilinski family dysfunction on so many occasions I’ve lost count, but for those interested in reading more, this tag will make your heart bleed.

I know Melissa loves Stiles but Scott is the no.1 priority and like Sheriff, she too seems to not trust Stiles at times and Sheriff has made it clear on many occasions that he can trust Scott even if half of the time Scott is wrong and Sheriff doesn't even know. Stiles doesn't need another parent with same mindset on top of that.

I agree. thing is, it’s an easy mistake to make and has nothing to do with them being any kind of evil. scott is the one that’s easier to handle; he has a job, probably has tried to keep stiles out of trouble for years, he’s kind and he’s very accepting. stiles on the other hand hears everything, wants to know everything, copies keycards and lies and in the eyes of a parent, that does make scott the less complicated one, the less infuriating one. 

but as it is, when it comes down to it, stiles does these things to keep people safe (despite battling crippling anxiety meaning he has no energy for sugarcoating stuff) while scott, idealistic as he may be, is slowly but surely looking like the worse option.

as a parent or a guardian in general, it’s very easy to prefer the less complicated child, be they yours or someone else’s, especially when you don’t understand their motivations. the sheriff’s and melissa’s POV makes it look like stiles has a ton of bad ideas when stiles has had a ton of cleaning scott’s messes to do. if it came down to it, the sheriff would choose stiles though, but I doubt stiles knows that. he might know, but doubt it. and that’s our biggest problem.
