“still hearing” ~ inspired by colleen’s poetry
as someone who lives in the deaf community, I have to say. Deaf people tend to be really freaking loud.
I kind of (always) want to be like "hey so cracking your knuckles/stomping the floor/farting/etc is actually kind of loud, and it's cool if you do it once (or possibly in the privacy of your own personal space) but I'm trying to do work/read/exist, please stop." but I'm worried about being too insensitive.
However I just sat here for thirty minutes glaring at the roommate for tapping her foot against the chair and clunking plates around loudly and making me jump every two seconds.
I'm not a nice person.
