You might even say that it's right up there with policing tags... like, just follow your own dash and stay out of everyone else's business. People are allowed to ship what they like and post what they like and write what they like and tag what their posts are about and ignore the rest. You're forgetting the hater manifesto of making sure that the hate gets spread as far as possible, though. That's the only fly in the ointment of your common sense here. :P

*solidarity fist bump* people are clueless. coming out usually means the beginning of a long “queer 101” education process of friends and family you never realized were quite so dense.

It's not even so much a Queer 101, as it's an Introduction to Deep Breathing and Temple Massaging. It's like when Bi people get told 'Bi means two!' or something like that. Having other people try to tell you what you identify as.... Ugh.

Although, to be fair, my stepdad's reaction was to ask if I was coming home for Halloween.

That sucks. If you keep ice on it and keep it elevated, that can help with the swelling. Sometimes Walgreens has crutches and splints, too. Then all you're missing, even if it is broken, is them actually setting it. And to be honest, these days, an urgent care or even an ER would probably just splint it and refer you to an orthopedist for a 2nd set of x-rays and any actual setting/casting. So that part of it wouldn't happen until Monday anyway.

I've been icing it and elevating it. My parents are also bringing up a compression ankle brace thing that I have tomorrow since it's family day. I don't think it's broken. I doubt I would be able to walk at all if it was. I can at least walk, it just hurts and I limb a little bit. Thanks for the advice though!!

Ugh, the “little baby” stuff drives me up the wall. Especially as it’s often used in conjunction with “gay”, linking the infantilization with queerness. Like, I’m pretty sure no character in fandom has ever been called a “straight little baby nerd”

Yes, thank you! It's another thing I get really grumpy about on occasion! Be rude if you must, but don't belittle people that way! Like, call Sherlock an idiot, emotionally tone-deaf asshole, but don't call him a baby! I can't handle art that kid-ifies them, either. If I wanted to watch children getting sexy, I'd... wait. I'd have myself arrested. Let's not even consider alternate ending to that sentence... :P Teens is one thing, but actual kids?!
