Oh my freaking stars I love Find the Word tag games *does a little Bex dance*. If you ever do these then please tag me in them (I love how it helps me revisit parts of my work that I might not often look at).
I was tagged by the awesome @theevolutionofledarose, thank you heaps for the tag :) I’m going to just use my WIP Stillcity for this game, but I plan on doing a lot more writing in the next week or so, so for future tags I hope to use other WIPs too <3
The words I was given to find are: Ice, Hot, Table, Morning, Fly.
Weird. Apparently I haven’t used the word ‘Ice’ at all in Stillcity lol. So instead I shall subsitute ‘Froze’ as it’s the closest I can think of.
All fighting ceased as Míshásta and Síochanta alike froze in fear, and suddenly a dazzling golden river of pure magic began to pour forth from the strange devices on the keep wall that had been inert for uncounted star-turns. Like a glittering tide the energy swept down, engulfing the entire city in a blaze of gold.
The day was hot and Torin was feeling so light-headed that he barely heard Feidhelm finish the list of the dead and announce a day of mourning for the whole city, and he was still staring into space as the solemn crowd slowly dispersed. It took a rough nudge from the Guard standing next to him to snap Torin out of his stupor and he glanced listlessly around with dull eyes, realizing that he was alone but for a few stragglers.
Torin and Ciaran were already utterly spellbound with the story but Edana had to nerve herself to continue. Clenching her fist that was resting on the table she forced herself to speak again before the men noticed her hesitation, ‘It was senseless because the attack took every able-bodied warrior in the Guards and the Reckoners and we in Stillcity were left vulnerable and defenseless in a city stripped bare of protection. At least, that’s what the Míshásta force assumed when they sent a strike force just two suns after our army left for Stonereign.’
Morning. (Oooh yay, some world-building info lol).
It was widely accepted that no sane person would think of attempting to camp overnight in the Undulating Lands with more than a small party. Every inhabitant of Tírathrú learned from their youngest age of understanding that night-time was when the face of the Mother shifted and churned to reform anew the next morning. Trading caravans and military forays were the only expeditions that ventured far enough away from the city-sanctuaries to necessitate setting up a larger scale camp, but party sizes were usually limited and the most stringent of measures taken to ensure the safety of travelers.
Fly. (I had to use Flying, lol so sue me).
Heedless of the danger Edana headed the wild charge, channeling all of the warrior blood that flowed in her veins. Along with the first row of Síochanta women she crashed into the disordered Míshásta and felled three before her forward momentum was halted. Red hair flying around her like living flame Edana struck down a Míshásta soldier before he knew what had happened and then she was parrying a powerful blow from the man who had been standing behind her latest kill.
So fun <3 Now, I’m going to pass on five different words for anyone who wants to do this game (if you’re not tagged and want to do this then please do... Just tag me so I can read it lol). The new words are Light, quiet, fall, wide and ran.
