Today’s run was mentally & physically hard. Nothing specific, but small niggles. My hip kept pinching and that tendon in my ankle was unhappy. My legs felt heavy. It was slow. I thought about turning around at the 400m mark, at 2km mark, at the 5km mark I still wasn’t feeling it. I kept going to my turn around spot and decided I’d see how I was feeling on the loop back. At the 12km mark I could keep pushing though or turn toward home. I still wasn’t feeling it. I chose the latter. It’s ok for runs not to be perfect. It’s ok to cut it short. It’s ok to listen to your body.
