Oral stimming tip!
If you are someone like me, oral stimming doesn't (or doesn't always) involve chewing on things that are... chewable. Chewelry doesn't (or doesn't always) work because it's Chewy and not hard.
I used to really like putting quarters and rings in my mouth and throwing them around with my tongue. (My mother who already had awful anxiety before I came along nearly caught her premature death before I learned to hide it around her.)
Carry hard candy around with you.
I carry lemon sherbets around but butterscotch or peppermints would work too, whatever suits your fancy.
I have a Sensory Pocket in my purse
with earplugs, extra headphones, sunglasses, and some hard candy. It's an easily accessible pocket. You might also want to carry something with a good scent, nose plugs, an eye mask, stim toys, soft fabric (especially soft socks, yes), a weighted lap mat (if you have space) and/or a stress ball. Whatever helps you.
