i hope all the people coming here from twitter know that getting a popular post is literally a curse. like on twitter the goal is to get twitter famous but on tumblr you dont get famous you get the curse of people wanting to talk to you. stay away from my thoughts. do not tell me how to make my post better. i dont post things for you, i post things for the void.
posts with over even 1k notes will haunt you. beware the ghost of being funny or #relatable
children literally do not care about gender norms or queerness so long as you explain it to them. kids are going to ask questions regardless because they're naturally curious, so it is up to adults to teach children about inclusiveness and acceptance.
yesterday i was in the bathroom after a program with kids between the ages of 5 and 8 and in another stall, i could hear a child from the program and his mother. the child mentioned something about how he knew there was a "boy-girl" in the stall next to him, his mother told him not to assume, and he said he knew that i was, in fact, a "boy-girl."
his mom then did the exact right thing and said "people can use whatever bathroom they feel comfortable in and wear whatever clothes they feel comfortable in. i wear daddy's clothes all the time." no hate, no rudeness, just a simple answer in a way that her son would understand.
he did not ask any questions about gender and bathrooms after that, though the next question he did ask was "is that girl pooping?"
met a child named anakin yesterday. was not aware parents like that actually existed. why would you want your child to get bullied like that like they can get dealt some of the sickest burns because the other kids know your parents are huge nerds
