There's a secret behind a hidden soul
There hadn't been one moment of peace in her life for ages. Abby had been stuck trying to clear up the mess she had caused in Las Vegas. Her sister had died, but they had managed to stop the large disgusting creature from destroying the world. The amount of damage the city had received had cost the president a fortune, and her brother had scolded her if not when the other commanders decided to mildly suspend her spending of the money. Even though Lockwood was a wealthy country, they didn't want to get too full of themselves and spend everything. Abby did have to agree with them, but they only treated her as an enemy for the moment. After the recovery of her sickness, she was straight back on duty, serving "time" as Suro called it in the DWMA. She was not only attending classes, but acting as a tutor for those who wanted training on their close combat skills. Denki was her escort, the handsome weapon was having the time of his life here while Abby was stuck with her business.
The walls closed in slightly on her as she arose from the nurse's office for a check up. A simple one considering anything complicated would simply confused them in her anatomy. She had a small note in her hand, Lord Death had given it to her after she left his room earlier today. It was the address of a p.o box for the letters her family would be sending her. Mainly her wife and son. She clenched her teeth letting her fangs fit perfectly into their spaces she stopped and groaned. This wasn't something she wanted to be doing. Plenty have already messed with her tail, and if that wasn't enough her tight budget caused her to go 'hunting' more then she wanted to confess to doing. Maka might have been a bit friendly, but that's only because the girl long had since seen her soul. A year ago that was. No one could see Abby's soul, she used something like soul protect but not so that no one could peek at it without permission. Even then she rarely let them see it. Why? Well, when Maka saw it she nearly broke down. Abby had to calm her down and leave within a few moments before something bad happened. So, that was a secret she would rather keep hidden for herself.
"Along with the note, I'm supposed to be seeing Stein today for science notes to study." She said out loud to herself checking the letters again. To admit it, the rumors about stein had all been about how great he was despite this and that. Abby was a bit dis trustworthy of the whole dissecting thing. Professor Snow, a mad scientist, had stolen her sisters eye and threatened her way of life constantly. So science in general made her think of Snow and it was something that pissed her off even more. She flicked her tail and sighed, might as well give it a try, classes should just have been ending anyway.
Are you gonna cry? Suro asked Abby inside of her head. Suro appeared in front of her with a wicked smiled. Suro was Abby's instincts, a being only she could hear and see. Unless of course Suro had control of her body which happened sometimes. Suro looked almost exactly like Abby, aside for being taller, more slim where she wore a white dress tattered at the edges that reached to her ankles. Her hair was long and unkempt and her eyes were a deep crimson like Abby's were. Her fangs were sharper though along with her fingernails. "No, not while your here anyway" Abby snorted. Oh come on, I'm always here, it's not like you can never cry, you've done it plenty of times before. Suro followed close behind like a ghost haunting the girl. Abby stopped suddenly, "This should be Stein's classroom." She told herself and pulled on the handle. "Excuse the intrusion." The eighteen year old mused as she entered.
