Richie: Wow. You're ... here, and not in stall two.
Stan: Yeah, so?
Richie: ... I may have made some WILDLY inappropriate homoerotic comments to a gentleman wearing your shoes.

“The real world is much smaller than the imaginary” // for ben from @stnlyuris
“Yeah.” The word came out with the enthusiasm of a boy who has just had a very familiar but very nebulous concept finally put into words he could express them with, and the smile he offered Stan was both brilliant and beautiful on that soft, round face that had had so few reasons to smile before meeting his new friends. His first friends. More of them than he had ever imagined he would have; it was the Losers who had finally encouraged him to start finding beauty in life outside of his own imagination, away from his books and his erector set and his inward-looking daydreams, but the fanciful and the imaginary would never lose their luster for him, to his dying day.
“Yeah.” He repeated, swinging his legs a little as they sat together. “That’s why I like the library so much. You can go anywhere in there, be anyone you want.” He had never expressed these romantic notions aloud to anyone, and his face had pinked a bit, but for once he didn’t fear being mocked for his academia. When the big kids weren’t saying he’d killed Christ or making fun of his nose (which didn’t look at all unusual to Ben, personally), he knew Stan bore the scarlet letter of ‘nerd’ just like he did. “A lot of kids act like reading is a chore or something, but I don’t get it. Why would you want to be in Derry when you can just go somewhere else whenever you want?”
