Welcome kids and squids!
For those who use Squid Beakons and the Sprinkler we have some trick additions to these two sub weapons.
There are additional ways to use the “Squid Beakons” and the “Sprinkler” than just simply placing them on the map.
Sub Weapon info:
Sub weapons are an addition to the weapon to help your team and yourself advance during battle. Many users place sub weapons to set caution and fear into the enemy team. Though there are a couple of sub weapons that don’t really set the caution towards the enemy team. (such as the Sprinkler and the Squid Beakon)
ALSO! SUB WEAPONS CONSUME A VERY LARGE AMOUNT OF YOUR INK TANK! BE CAUTIOUS TO WHERE YOU WOULD PLACE / THROW THEM.
Sprinkler:
The Sprinkler can be placed almost anywhere on the map including Walls, Gates, Trees, Fences, ect, while inking a small portion of the map. Sprinklers will stay on until an enemy member shoots it down, you place another one else where or you get splatted.
Squid Beakon:
The Squid Beakon can be placed almost anywhere you CAN STAND. Simply press the R button on your WiiU GamePad, and a Beakon will be placed where you stood. Squid Beakons help to bring you back in battle or just get out of a tight situation by launching to Beakon.
Other ways you may use the Sprinkler and the Squid Beakon:
Use the Beakon or Sprinkler as a distraction. The enemy team will want to take out your sprinkler / beakon to prevent further ink spread or team flank opportunities.
Using the Beakon or Sprinkler for distraction will get enemy team to shoot it down leaving them vulnerable and distracted from you.
Using the Beakon or Sprinkler as a defense shield!
Both of these sub weapons can be used as a shield for your squid, just by placing the sub weapon in front of your squid you may fire at will because the Beakon / Sprinkler will interfere with the enemy’s line of fire.
Both sub weapons are more useful on higher grounds since the enemy fire is already stripped from its full attack power now they would have to deal with the sub weapons HP.
Using both sub weapons as a decoy is very useful for players who use long range weapons such as Chargers and Gals. Once you notice your Sprinkler or Beakon is taking damage it gives you the time to retreat from getting splatted.
Beakons are also very helpful during Tower Controle by simply placing the Beakons on the tower giving you and your team the defense they need to move forward.
Along with both sub weapons they work great in close combat, and delay enemy fire during a choke hold giving you the upper advantage.
Cons of using the Beakons and Sprinkler for Defense and Decoys:
Using the Beakons and Sprinklers as a defense protects all, but your inklings head leaving you vulnerable to enemy fire if you are shot from above.
As I said before placing the Beakon and the Spinkler consume a very large amount of your ink, this leads to moments during the combat where you’ll have your ink tank depleted leaving you defenseless and unable to counter opponents.
That’s it for today squiddos! Don’t forget to send us your own tips and tricks to us! This is Nami signing off~
Whats kraken squids?
Frustrated because you keep getting splatted by the enemy sniper?
Here are some tips on how to deal with a sniper.
Stage awareness:
Keep a close eye on what stages are playing, and what may give a sniper the ability over other weapons.
Stages such as Moray Towers, BlackBelly Skatepark, and Flounder Heights give chargers the ability to snipe from higher levels.
These stages have key points to where the charger has the best advantage.
Moray Towers:
BlackBelly Skatepark:
Flounder Heights:
The red arrows are the key spots chargers usually stand to snipe during a battle.
Okay, now that you know where chargers usually stand to snipe. It’s time to counter them with your own skills. Knowing where the chargers usually stand in battle gives you the advantage of where they’ll go at the beginning of the match and after they get splatted.
Charger info:
Pay attention to what kind of charger the enemy possesses so you may counter them with your own abilities. I won’t get specific to every single charger, but the Splat charger and the E-liter seem to be a favorite of many in all these stages. Splat chargers charge up pretty fast, but the range limits them from attacking in certain spots in Moray Towers. The E-liter can attack from any spot in all 3 stages, but the charge-up it pretty time consuming.
Now lets get to dealing with the charger them self.
Knowing what stages are playing informs you to what weapons will be used for those stages. To counter the chargers, weapons apart of the gal. family are very useful along with weapons with the special Inkzooka and Inkstrike
Using Inkzooka against a charger is very useful to getting them splatted. The range of the Inkzooka along with the damage and speed may catch the sniper by supersize indicating they had gotten splatted. Though the handling of the Inkzooka may be tricky, it is (in my opinion) the best special for getting rid of snipers.
Using Inkstrike is also another way to get a sniper splatted or at least out of their sniping point. Simply touching the screen to where the sniper is or could be would splat or force them to retreat.
Don’t have a long range weapon or a special with Inkzooka or Inkstrike? Don’t worry about that, all you need is a wall to hide behind and your weapon. Simply jumping around while inking small bits or throwing bombs would make it hard for the sniper to get a good aim at you, but you must remember once their charge up time is full try to stay hidden and stay away from where you sploshed into the ink. Keep this up for a small bit is good, but doing it the whole match may lead you to lose, because they sniper may or will splat you if you slip up or they might just not pay attention to you once they know what skill / tactic you are using against them. Along with the amount of time you’d be wasting doing this when you could be inking somewhere else.
Well that’s all for today! Good luck my squiddos, and keep an eye out for snipers!
Hey Squiddos
Ever wonder how people get so many splats with weapons with burst bomb?
Well, they maybe using a trick called “Burst canceling”
Burst Canceling:
This trick is where a player uses “burst bomb” to cancel out a player faster than with attacking with your normal weapon. The weapons reccomended to use the “burst canceling” trick are Carbon roller and the Slosher.
How to Burst Cancel:
1st - You would need to throw the burst bomb far enough for your weapon to also inflict damage on the enemy.
2nd - As soon as the burst bomb inflicts upon the enemy press the ZR button to finish them off.
3rd (if the enemy had not been splatted) -Throw another burst bomb at the enemy to make sure they get splatted.
Burst Canceling Benefits:
One less squid on they’re team preforming their part on the team.
Gives your weapon more range and damage.
Lets your team advance more to the enemy territory.
Shortens attack time with your usual weapon.
Happy Burst Canceling squiddos!!
