For you, I always imagine a gentle long term stockholm (I know) situation. You’re more resistant to being pulled out of your life, you’ve worked hard and have a lot of things going for yourself. And that’s why great care has to be taken to make sure it’s successful.
I always imagine stalking you for a long time, specifically at your bedroom window. Painstakingly falling in love through binoculars, watching you change, watching you sleep, all through a thin piece of glass. Memorizing every detail of you, of your life, noting everything about you and how you care for yourself so I can care for you even better. After weeks and weeks (months?) of observation, finally breaking in through your window one night while you’re sleeping, laying a gloved hand across your mouth and muffling your screams while you wake up and as I manhandle you into restraints and a bag over your head, begging you softly to calm down, that it’s okay, to stop panicking, that you’re only making this harder on us both, that I promise life is going to be better for you from now on.
Taking you home, keeping you in a lovely bedroom (with no windows and a locked door). Not even touching you at first, just letting you get used to your new home, letting you get all your crying and grief at what you’ve left behind out. Letting my actions speak for me, making you beautiful breakfasts every morning and keeping your bedroom and bathroom stocked with your favorite plushies and blankets, your normal shampoos and products, everything I can to make you as comfortable and the transition as easy as possible. Let you come to your own terms with your captivity and your abductor as your life becomes so much simpler, so much easier. Given whatever you want and taken care of in ways you’ve only ever dreamed of. Eventually, one day, I’m sure you’d start to look at me a little different and I’d finally, finally get the chance to touch what I watched through a window for so long.
