Agent Stone is an exGUN agent on the run.
The reasons for that aren’t really important but could be for later.
One day, he comes across a little Mobian village and meets Mr. Tinker.
They are both instantly head over heels. Like love at first sight type shit.
Stone keeps his background a secret from Tinker cause he doesn’t want to scare the sweet man off. Tinker doesn’t even know his own background and Stone is conveniently away whenever anyone brings it up.
Stone is aware of Dr. Eggman naturally and has seen pictures of the man. But, while he sees the resemblance, he just can’t imagine Eggman and Tinker being one and the same. He does find Eggman attractive but he just assumes he has a type.
They get married and Tinker creates Belle as their daughter to raise together.
They are both girl dads and love her so much and teach her about the world.
She helps out around the house and in the work shop and loves her dads so much.
Basically, they build a whole cute and happy life together.
Tinker helps out the people in the village.
Stone is basically a house husband.
They just act like the old sweet married couple down the street that bakes cookies and gives out fun cute gifts (Tinker with his toys and woodcarvings and Stone with knitwear and quilts and crochet.)
Then of course you get Tinker’s kidnapping and Starline trying to remind him of who he was.
Stone tries to save his husband and in fact almost succeeds, but Metal Sonic shows up and Eggman remembers who he is.
This is kind of where it gets tricky cause there are different ways to go from here.
Eggman, confronted with this man who he finds very attractive and who married his amnesiac self, decides to keep Stone. Stone did, after all, almost succeed in saving Tinker and would have if Metal hadn’t arrived when he did, so the man is obviously useful. The fact that Stone was in love with Tinker also makes him easy to manipulate and very loyal. Stone wants to fight back at first, if only to get back to Belle and make sure she’s ok and not abandoned by both of her parents, but he finds himself unsuccessful. There’s just something about Dr. Eggman that renders Stone wholeheartedly at the man’s nonexistent mercy. Belle is left alone as she is in the comics but this time with the mission to save her Baba from the man that stole her father’s face.
Stone gets away after the Doctor is returned to himself. Then he goes back to the village he and Tinker created their little family in. Belle is understandably devastated by the idea that her other father is gone but at least she still has Stone. Eggman meanwhile keeps some of Tinker’s memories and remembers the man he had loved and finds himself intrigued. Stone is undeniably attractive and Eggman could always use a new plaything. There is also the matter of Stone’s oddities, Tinker may have been able to brush off his husband’s odd behavior but Eggman finds himself obsessive over it. So, he does his research and finds an interesting file on a fugitive exGUN Agent who went AWOL after an excessively violent incident. Yes… this man was interesting indeed.
