Dear Gus & Magnus,
After work today I found you guys playing in the Grummers' front yard. Gus had the stomp rocket out and then Jacob stomped on it to see if he could get the rocket to cross the road into Madeleine's yard.
After we put you two to bed, Jacob, Derek, and I watched the NCAA championship game on their back porch, so Cory went over to hang with Mom on our back porch.

We’ve mentioned using the stomp rockets in the past for NERF mortars. We normally try to set up one or two concealed “nests” of two person mortar teams to the out side rear areas of the anticipated battlefield. They aren’t super effective, low rate of fire, expose the operator to increased risk, etc - but it’s just freaking fun to stomp mortars as fast as you can while the ammo lasts - or until you get attacked and flushed from your position.
During a recent battle we quickly ran out of our 17 battered stomp rockets, but had a squadmate who rolls with the Demolisher as a grenadier. He threw us some spare NERF “Missiles” (orange rockets) and we shoved them on the tubes. We never tried these before because we didn’t have any NERF missiles - we thought they would be too tight. It turns out the combination of NERF missiles combined with the stomp rocket base is simply amazeballs. They have a tight fit on the tubes and really pop when you fire them. They shoot at a higher velocity than the standard rockets - and they aren’t as fragile as the hollow plastics tubes that always get stepped on and crushed.
