“Remedy for foolishness: a good stompin’.”
“If only that worked.”
“You be surprised. Used to know this Hunter who was a real fool. Just prancing around all the time, hopping about, didn’t take anything seriously. Real liability to any team he was on, you know?”
“Uh-huh.”
“Well, one day I decided to get that foolish Hunter straightened out, so when the Iron Banner came to town, I made sure he got signed up. Only I also had a talk with Lord Saladin, asked him to do me the favor of making sure that Hunter was always on the other side of the match from me. He most graciously obliged.”
“Right.”
“So, in match after match, when that Hunter fool appeared on the other team, I made it my business to go after just him. Oh, I made sure I did my part to keep my side doing alright, but then I spent all my time lookin’ for him, tracking him, waiting to mess him up in particular. Went around with this little sidearm, just harried him constantly from close range.”
“Mm.”
“Well, by the end of that week, that Hunter wasn’t fighting so foolishly anymore. He got real careful, moved all stealthily all the time, and learned to stick with his team rather than just jumping around like a bozo. He even managed to take me out once or twice. So after that Iron Banner came to its end, I gave him that little sidearm, a reminder of the lesson and a token of respect for learning it.”
“Hmph.”
“And you should know very well the effectiveness of that remedy for foolishness, because that Hunter fool was you! And now look: top of the board in that last match of ours!”
“Do you have to bring this up every Iron Banner?”
