This is true for all fandoms, but it's especially true for bookish fandoms, and in particular, certain parts of SJM's fandom.

Just because YOU don't like it, just because YOU don't see it, just because YOU think something is a cliche, just because YOU wouldn't do it that way, doesn't mean that SJM wouldn't.

SJM is in control. It's the author's vision. Her imagination. Her writing. We, as readers, have no impact on what she writes. But that aside, thinking that SJM wouldn't tie the covers of the books to some vision of hers, to what's in the books is absurd. It is genuinely crazy talk.

Like, bitch doesn't matter if you're using a neutral pronoun, the moment you use a feminine pronoun stop being a gender-neutral reader

But I think this only gets worse in smut fanfics

The person goes there and puts GENDER NEUTRAL AFAB READER

So if you're a person with afab who isn't cis, wow, a fanfic with my genitals but neutral pronouns so I don't have dysphoria or feel uncomfortable!

And guess what? Again you will find it there

Look man, let's be honest, do you want to write solely for female and Afab readers? Okay, it's your right! You can do this completely at will and with a clear conscience

also PLEASE for the love of all that is holy if you are talking about statistics PLEASE DEAR LORD PUT INTO CONSIDERATION GROUP SIZES.

statistics on a basic level don't usually show If one group is SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than another. it just shows how MUCH in a group, in smaller groups it'll look like there is MORE and in BIGGER groups it'll look like there is LESS.
