When did it become that we no longer care about the welfare of others? That we no longer care about each other on a basic Human level? That we stopped seeing human and started seeing race, religion, sexual orientation, and political alignment. When did we decide it was ok to stop treating each other the way we wanted to be treated and instead started treating each other the way we felt we were being treated? And at what point did that become ok? Why is it ok that we no longer respect a difference of opinion? That we no longer can have a Civil conversation about things without someone being offended or becoming hateful. I’ve seen so often that the Millennial generation is the generation of entitlement, and selfishness. That we’re spoiled, snowflakes who need to toughen up. That we have no respect. Yet when things get tough in a conversation, the older generation are the first to Complain, point fingers and be ugly. They’re the first to scream, make demands and accusations without any facts. They want to say we’re uneducated, but are the first to have their facebook hacked or strongly believe that Mark Zucherburg is going to start charging if they don’t repost that thing. Now Im not saying that everyone in the previous generations are that way, and im NOT saying that everyone in my Generation is as like minded as I am, but I am saying that there’s a pattern here of hate. And it’s not coming from the Millennials who have started questioning everything we were made to believe growing up. It’s not coming from the Avaccado toast eating, anti wedding, non house buying generation. It’s coming more so from the sitting pretty Generation with their 401k’s the generation who severely screwed up the Economy and the housing market and the Job outlook then pointed to us and said why aren’t you trying? I can’t tell you how many times in the last few years I’ve had my Dad (who hasn’t been in the hunt for a Job in over 12 years thanks to a Disability that has taken him out of the workforce) that I should have no trouble getting a job, that he could go out right now and come home with a Job if he wanted, that I wasn’t trying hard enough. Im so tired of being told that I need to stop playing on my phone or computer and be productive. They don’t see the things you are capable of doing on your Phone or computer like my College math homework, research for an english paper or talking with the only like minded people I have found who happen to live out of state and hundreds of miles away. Im not really sure where I was going with this I just needed to get things Off my Chest. And clear my Mind. But im getting to a point where enough’s enough, Im tired of people my age trying to live and leave well enough alone and still be blamed for all the wrong in this country. It’s time we start making a difference and changing things, because if we don’t stand up soon and use our Voices and our talents and skills to make a difference...there won’t be anything left to change. It’s time to step up, and Kick it in the Ass!
