Bro… I’m begging y’all to remember Frozen (2013). That movie is Anna’s from start to finish. Her pov, her goofy ass optimism, her heartbreak, her sacrifice and her “love is an open door” era but it flop but the song remains iconic.
She literally carries the entire narrative on her back while Elsa is just chilling in her ice airbnb being mysterious. Elsa is the conflict of the story. ✋
Then Frozen 2 comes along and finally says “hey bestie, wanna know what’s actually up with Elsa?” and suddenly people are like “ugh too much Elsa”. like....???
Anna? Still vital, still the anchor, but she doesn’t need to repeat the exact same “naïve girl learns selfless love” arc again. She already grew in the first one. So what do they do? They trade focus. That’s balance. That’s storytelling.
Sorry that the movie dared to give the other sister a turn???
Anna already had her spotlight, her growth, her whole damn redemption arc of “love saves the day.”
Elsa’s the one with the unfinished business.
They traded spotlights like normal siblings sharing toys.
