Think I need a break from the repetitive demonization of schizospec throughout tv and movies (so basically it means most gritty or "scary" content is on pause in this gal's library), because I'm feeling really annoyed, disappointed, and fed up with such lousy, predictable portrayals of us real, everyday people having to live with these conditions.
For some reason I usually feel obliged to subject myself to all of that stigmatizing garbage, just so I can say confidently that I'm not just being "crazy"/being too sensitive, that this is a real issue that needs to stop because it's impacting real life people part of this marginalized community.
Being in my head is just a lot right now and I need something (hopefully) light-hearted and not typecasting, so I have started watching a chill romcom(?) while eating my daily morning meds breakfast. (i will update y'all if it turns out to have this ableism) I'm not usually a super romcom girlie - more of a horror/thriller junkie - but I'm bored and frustrated with what the horror genre has to offer for the time-being. For the love of god please write something new, something that doesn't further marginalize the mentally ill. Even if for the sake of creativity and innovation. I mean as it is barely any media is safe from this targeted ableism, but the horror genre seems to be the typical perpetrator orchestrating this hate
