Letdown
Ever since a certain astrophysicist came across my radar (probably somewhere between 2000 and 2003) I have been enamored with his mind and manner. I’ve posted his quotes and images many times, and expressed wanting to marry his mind.
And now, in the year that was already from hell, I find that once again my faith was misplaced.
I knew that there were a ton of men out here just casually assaulting women for the last...millennia...and not thinking they had done anything wrong. I’ve just always hoped it wasn’t the ones I liked. Even if they got decent later, if they raped someone when they were young it isn’t something you can look over *because* they were young.
Too many people think rape is just a “boys will be boys” thing. Nope.
So no more NdGT hero worship from me.
Likely no more hero worship from me. Everyone lets you down.
Now it’s true that he may have still made some contribution to society, plenty of people who did bad horrible things have done good things too. But he already got the shine for the good stuff. His time is done with me.
And I’m sad. Because I got fooled again. It’s like this whole year has been slapping me in the face saying “this is what happens when you hope”.
