'Rooting' behaviour is when a pig uses their nose to dig around in dirt to look for food. By farmers this is seen as a destructive behaviour as it destroys land where they're keeping pigs If the pig tries to root while a nose ring is in, it causes them pain and discomfort as it digs into their face as they press their nose to the ground. This individual has been mutilated multiple times to prevent them from acting like a pig. How is this justified?
