Performative
This rise of 'femininity' blogs, channels, accounts that have this very odd, one-dimensional view of femininity... it all strikes me as very odd. Especially the notion that ALL black women don't know how to be a woman or act feminine. As if there's only one way form of womanhood.
Just heard someone called it 'performative femininity' and yes, that's such a perfect way to describe it. The advice, tips, etc given is so superficial and often ridiculous. And to top it off, the women behind these blogs, channels, accounts and what not, are most likely not even living the lifestyle they pretend to know so much about.
What's that saying again? Those who can't do, teach... 🤷🏽♀️
